I have compiled a list of fun events happening this summer in Hilton Head Island, SC. Whether you are looking for music, fireworks, festivals, or farmer’s markets, I have you covered! Click on the titles to go directly to the event source.

1. Harbourfest with Shannon Tanner and Cappy the Clown
Location: Shelter Cove Harbour and Marina
When: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday from 6pm- 10pm
Fireworks are every Tuesday at dusk except for the week of 4th of July
Weekly celebration featuring live music with Shannon Tanner, face painting by Cappy the clown, and bounce houses. Fireworks occur every Tuesday.
2. Parrot Palooza with Shannon Tanner & The Oyster Reefers
Location: Shelter Cove Harbour and Marina
When: Every Thursday at 7:00 pm
Live island themed music with Hilton Head favorite, Shannon Tanner, and face painting by Cappy the Clown.
3. Gregg Russell Summer Concerts
Location: Sea Pines Resort, Harbour Town
When: Monday- Friday through August 23rd, 8pm-9:30 pm
Gregg Russell has been a popular entertainer for years, and you can catch him again this summer under the Liberty Oak in Harbour Town at the Sea Pines Resort
4. Various tours and exhibits at Coastal Discovery Museum
When: Varies – Click here to access calendar
The Coastal Discovery Museum features 68 total acres with natural trailis, gardens, historic buildings, a gift shop, and docks to view the marsh. They have many educational events and tours that can be scheduled throughout the summer.
5. Wednesdays at Wexford Outdoor Market
Location: Village at Wexford
When: Every Wednesday from 10am – 2pm
Enjoy this popular outdoor market every Wednesday during the summer. The market features local fruits and vegetables, fresh baked goods, and other tasty treats, as well as handcrafted goods and local items.
6. Summer Jams
Location: Shelter Cove Community Park
When: Every Tuesday, 5pm-9pm
While you can head to Shelter Cover Harbour for Fireworks every Tuesday, the Shelter Cove Community Park also offers a great view as well as bounce houses, a zip line, rock wall, bungee jump, face painting, and live music. Bring some chairs for the lawn and enjoy the entertainment as the sun sets over the beautiful Calibogue Sound.

7. Movie Night in the Park
Location: Shelter Cove Community Park
When: Every Thursday at 9pm
Every Thursday, Shelter Cove hosts a free movie night in the Shelter Cove community park. This years’ lineup is below:

8. First Annual Father’s Day Cookout and Cornhole Tournament
Location: Beach House Resort
When: June 16th from 11am -4pm
If you are in town on Father’s Day, you may want to try out this 1st Annual Father’s Day Cookout and Cornhole Tournament. There will also be a tournament for Father/Son or Father/Daughter teams that are broken down by age group. The cookout will include burgers, brats, ribs, beer can chicken, as well as other foods. Children under 3 are free, and the ticket costs vary depending on if you wish to compete or attend the cookout only.
9. Sunset Celebration Summer Concerts
Location: Shelter Cove Community Park
When: Every Friday, 7pm – 10pm
In case you haven’t been to Shelter Cove Community Park, there is yet another weekly FREE event they have all summer long – the Summer Concert Series. This is a pet friendly event from 7pm-10pm every Friday night featuring various local bands. Check out their website for the music schedule.
10. Hilton Head Island Music Festival
Location: Coastal Discovery Museum at Honey Horn
When: June 22 & 23
Hilton Head is having their first ever Music Festival this year, and it will take place at the Coastal Discovery Museum. There will be 15 performances over the two day period, and there will be a food court, craft beers and wine, and other vendors. This is an eco-friendly event that will be virtually plastic free. The tickets are $59.
11. Legally Blonde The Musical
Location: Arts Center of Coastal Carolina
When: June 26-August 4
If you’re a fan of the arts, then Hilton Head has you covered. The Arts Center of Coastal Carolina puts on various performances throughout the year, and this June they are featuring the fun and entertaining Legally Blonde the Musical. Dates and times vary, so check out their website for availability and ticket prices.
12. Hilton Head Farmer’s Market
Location: Coastal Discovery Museum at Historic Honey Horn
When: Every Tuesday 9pm -1pm
This farmer’s market is opened every Tuesday , and it features quite the assortment of foods. In addition to normal farmer’s market offerings such as produce and pasture raised meats, you can find free range rabbit, seafood, salsas, sausage, baked goods, and she crab soup!
13. Hilton Head Island Firecracker 5k Run and Family Fun Walk
Location: Jarvis Creek Park
When: July 4 @ 8am
Whether you a runner or prefer to take a leisurely stroll, you can celebrate your patriotism by participating in the Hilton Head Island Firecracker 5k Run and Family Fun Walk. There’s even a Children’s fun run after the race with music, fruit, beverages, and door prizes. This is the largest and oldest races in Beaufort county with 1,700+ participants that come from across the U.S. If you plan to participate make sure you register online so you don’t miss out!
14. Harbourfest Firework Night (4th of July)
Location: Shelter Cove Harbour & Marina
When: Thursday July 4th (no show on Tuesday, the 2nd)
If you are in town the week of the 4th, then make sure you do not miss this special version of the weekly Fireworks at Harbourfest.
15. Farmers Market of Bluffton
Location: Downtown Bluffton
When: Thursdays, 1pm – 6pm
This list may be a little farmer’s market heavy, but I just had to include this gem of a farmer’s market. Historic Bluffton is a short ride away from the main island, and you really should check it out at least one day if you are in Hilton Head for a week! If you plan to visit Bluffton, then you should definitely go during their Farmer’s market. First take a tour of the historic locations and visit the Heyward House Museum, then head over to main street where you will find plenty of produce, local foods, artists, and seafood.

16. Haunted History Tours
Location: Zion Chapel of Ease Cemetery
When: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays @ 8pm
It is almost a given that historic lowcountry towns have haunted tours, and Hilton Head Island is no different. Tour a spooky old cemetery and learn the history of the people who used to roam (or still do?) the island.
